Summer Breeze

It’s March already and I could almost smell summer in the air. I love summer and I’m really hoping to go to the beach this year with my family. I miss the beach! I want to feel the warmth of the sun on my skin, the sea breeze on my face, and the sand between my toes. I even miss the smell of sunblock lotion (not the coconut flavored ones). And so, I went window shopping online… I’ve always loved Old Navy and found these:

I could ask my cousin to buy these for me using my raket money. And maybe I could something with the beaded necklace. I can buy my supplies this weekend since we’re going to Quiapo to get my client’s album. Yey! And I’ve always wanted to buy these:

But I’m not sure if someone could bring it home from the US in time for summer. But I’ll still ask my cousin to buy it anyway and just send it whenever possible. I’ll be buying two sets actually, one for me and for my dear nephew. :)

MYMP: New Horizon

Look at what I bought:

MYMP’s new album New Horizon. It’s got 8 original songs and 6 remakes which includes one of my favorites Crazy For You. It’s great for easy listening and it’s fairly cheap too (well most OPM CDs are) for P280. Check it out!

HBD to me!

Happy birthday to me! Happy birthday to me! Happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday to me!

Nothing much happened today. My dad, my niece and I went to the mall to fetch my mom, who will be coming from the office. We just had dinner at home with my mom’s delicious home-cooked food. We had pancit Malabon, lechon kawali and kare-kare with yummy bagoong from Malabon. Of course we had cake… I asked my sister to buy a different flavor this time rather than the usual mocha or vanilla flavored birthday cake. And since my dad doesn’t like chocolate cake, she just bought Mango Crunch from Red Ribbon. The real celebration will be this weekend because my sister’s birthday is on Sunday, so we’ll just celebrate together.

The sad part is, just like last year the people who really matters to me (aside from my family of course) forgot about me. But I’m not as sad anymore, I was kinda expecting it and I’m already getting used to it.

On the contrary, my digiscrapping family is really amazing. The Bebots greeted me on the Philippine Digiscrappers forum with well wishes, I’ve received a letter from DST with coupons from different designers, ClikChicDesigns gave me a free birthday kit, and the most exciting of them all, Summer Simmons and the Sugar Giggles girls gave me a $10 coupon to SugarGiggles.com. Isn’t the digiscrapping community fantabulous? Thanks to everyone… you guys really made my day!

I would also like to thank Aggie, who also just celebrated her birthday, for her birthday RAK… I won a $10 GC to a store of my choice. Thank you! Wish I could do the same for the others but I’m really short on cash these days and I couldn’t think of any other RAK to do… maybe next time…

Sharing the Night Together

I was listening to my MP3s and heard this song. I really like this song because it’s so easy to sing along with. This brought back a lot of memories… IRC memories. Haha! So, here’s a video I found on YouTube. A live version of the original. Well, I’m not sure if it’s really live but the but at least it’s the original version… nothing beats the original! Enjoy!

SHARING THE NIGHT TOGETHER
By Dr. Hook

You’re looking kinda lonely girl
Would you like someone new to talk to
Oh yeah alright
I’m feeling kinda lonely too
If you don’t mind, can I sit down here beside you
Oh yeah alright
If I seem to come on too strong I hope that you will understand
I say these things cause I’d like to know
If you’re as lonely as I am
And if you mind
Sharing the night together oh yeah
Sharing the night together oh yeah
Sharing the night

We could bring in the morning girl
If you want to go that far
And if tomorrow finds us together
Right here the way we are
Would you mind
Sharing the night together oh yeah
Sharing the night together oh yeah
Sharing the night

Would you like to dance with me and hold me
You know I want to be holding you
Oh yeah alright
Cause I like feeling like I do
And I see in your eyes that you’re liking it
I’m liking it too
Oh yeah alright
I’d like to get to know you better
Is there a place where we can go
Where we can be alone together
And turn the lights down low
And start sharing the night together oh yeah
Sharing the night together oh yeah
Sharing the night

Celebration of Life

My aunt finally gave up her battle with lung cancer and rejoined our creator on the 1st of February. She was diagnosed to have it two years ago and September last year her x-ray showed that she had water in her lungs and unfortunately, one of her lungs collapsed. The doctor said that she only had about two months to live. January 31st, she agreed to be brought to the hospital because of her cough but she requested that she will only stay there for two days… on her second day, her other lung gave in and that was it… she’s gone.

We’re not blood related, she’s the wife of my mom’s brother, but me and my cousins were close to her and I really miss her! I really didn’t want to look at her lying down inside a coffin but I still did and seeing her there, lying lifeless like that,  really broke my heart and made me cry hard. At least now she’s not suffering anymore…

Anyway, the theme of her wake and funeral is called Celebration of life… I guess, it was attempt to keep her memory alive. During the funeral, there were yellow balloons and flowers, her favorite color. It was too early for her to leave. She was only 49.

Work Work Work

…freelance that is. I’ve just finished a set of invitation, banner and table centerpiece banner for a high school graduation party… I also finished a 40-page storybook photo album for a kid’s first birthday… I just finished my nephew’s invitation for his first birthday and will be doing a banner for him… I still have two more storybooks to finish though…

But of course I still found the time to scrap. Two pages in two two days! And I really liked how both turned out. Woohoo! I’m on a roll!

Torete

This song is by a local band called Moonstar88. Torete means crazy. Not exactly the soundtrack of my life but my exact state of mind at this moment. I’m sure a lot or people will agree with me here. Haha!

TORETE
By Moonstar88

Sandali na lang
Maari bang pagbigyan
Aalis na nga
Maaari bang hawakan
Ang iyong mga kamay
Sana ay maabot ang langit
Ang iyong mga ngiti
Sana ay masilip

Wag kang mag-alala
Di ko ipipilit sa ‘yo
Kahit na lilipad
Ang isip ko’y torete sa ‘yo

Ilang gabi pa nga lang
Nang tayo’y pinagtagpo
Na parang may tumulak
Nanlalamig, nanginginig na ako
Akala ko nung una
May bukas ang ganito
Mabuti pang umiwas
Pero salamat na rin at nagtagpo

Torete, torete, torete ako
Torete, torete, torete sa ‘yo
