Got this from Nyree’s blog… it’s interesting for me so I’m going to answer it even though I wasn’t tagged

1. If you had all the money in the world, where would you travel (somewhere you haven’t been to before)?
I’d go to the base camp of Mt. Everest of course and stay there for at least a month.

2. What about that place (those places) draws you?
I am a non-practicing mountaineer and I think that every mountaineer’s dream is to conquer the highest peak in the world, but to me I’d happy to reach even just the base camp.

3. When you travel, what is your usual purpose (i.e. shop, learn about the history, learn about culture, pure R&R, etc)?
To discover the place and to learn about the culture and history and of course to have an adventure.

4. Give one travel tip.
I always bring my malong when I travel. It is very light and it serves many purposes like I could sleep soundly on “questionable” beds, I could change my clothes where there’s no room to change, it keeps me warm when I’m cold, etc.

Note to Nyree (if you’re reading this): I tried to leave a comment on your blog but it wouldn’t let me. Thanks for sharing anyway! :)

The week that was.

As promised here’s my Holy Week story. We didn’t really had anything planned because all the resorts were already fully booked.

Maundy Thursday

After having lunch at home, we went to Antipolo to check out the clubhouse of a particular village along Sumulong Highway. My sister’s company wanted to have a summer outing but they don’t want to go outside Metro Manila to avoid too many hassles and also because their budget is very limited. So, we went to this clubhouse where my sister and my brother-in-law attended a children’s party a few years back. It was okay, it looks old but it is clean. It actually is huge… they have a big swimming pool for adults, a small pool with roof for the kids, a function room (but it’s not air conditioned), two tennis courts, and a small grassy/garden area. It actually is perfect for my sister’s company outing. We took some photos and then headed to Antipolo church afterwards. We didn’t stay long in the church since the kids were with us and it was so hot that day and there were lots of people doing their visita iglesia. Of course, we didn’t leave the vicinity without buying cashew nuts and the very sticky kalamay. After Antipolo, we decided to go to Tagaytay and have dinner there. When we got there, the traffic was horrible, it looked like all the people in Manila decided to go to Tagaytay at the same time. We went to Mahogany market first to buy some meat and fruits. Then we looked for a place to have dinner. The restaurants were so jam-packed that there’s heavy traffic even in the parking lots. So we just decided on Dencio’s since they have a huge parking lot and there weren’t many people there. We headed back home after dinner but of course we stopped by Starbucks first. Our trip to Tagaytay wouldn’t be complete without it.

Good Friday and Black Saturday

We just stayed home because we didn’t really have any idea where else to go.

Easter Sunday

We stayed home also during the day then we went to Manila Bay after dinner to have dessert and coffee. It was really nice there, the place wasn’t too crowded.

Monday: Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor)

This day was still a non-working holiday so we decided to go joyriding again but my mom and dad just stayed home to rest. This time we went to Nasugbu, Batangas to check out the beaches there. There really weren’t much choices… there were Kawayan Cove and Terrazas de Punta Fuego which are both available to members only… then there’s Munting Buhangin. My sister and I didn’t go down the car anymore because from just the looks of the parking lot, the place was going to disappoint for sure. The whole place was littered! Afterwards, we went to the beach resort where we stayed at two years ago. The place was formerly called White Cove but is now known as Canyon Cove. It was reposessed by the bank a few years ago and is now owned by the same owner of Canyon Woods in Tagaytay. The place looks abandoned because there are a few unfinished buildings but they have a few condo units which they rent out and it’s fully furnished and fully air-conditioned. They’re supposed to be closed for renovation but they have 11 units available for walk-in clients. The good thing about this place is that it’s not crowded and you can bring in your own food and the price is very practical. Imagine paying only about PhP7000 for a two bedroom unit with two bathrooms, kitchen and veranda. The living room area is pretty huge and the whole unit is fully air conditioned and can accommodate about 10 persons. You can bring in your own food and you can even cook it there. They have a fully furnished kitchen with refrigerator so cooking won’t be a problem. It’s pretty cheap isn’t it? After the beach hunting, we dropped by Tagaytay on our way home to have dinner. Then off to Starbucks again and then home. It was still a fun week even though we didn’t have anything planned. Now I can’t wait to go to the beach!!! :)

Remember me?

Hello friends! Remember me? I’m back! Sorry I’d been MIA for a couple of weeks or so… I had problems with my PC but everything’s okay now. Nothing much happened to me except that I’ve got 5 new projects… yep 5! I’m already halfway with the first one and hopefully my mojo won’t abandon me so I can finish all of it ASAP.

Holy Week came and went… nope we didn’t go to the beach… we just drove around town during the Holy Week to entertain the kids and to avoid the summer heat. It’s so hot these days! I’ll post about it next time and I’ll try to post some pictures too.

And I’ve got good news! We’re going to beach on April 27-28! Yay! I’m so happy! But I’ve got to go now… I’ll tell you more stories on my next blog post… promise! And I promise to update my links too… sorry girls for the delay.
