stupid girl

by Garbage

You pretend you’re high. You pretend you’re bored.
You pretend you’re anything just to be adored.
And what you need is what you get.

Don’t believe in fear. Don’t believe in faith.
Don’t believe in anything that you can’t break.

You stupid girl. You stupid girl.
All you had you wasted. All you had you wasted.

What drives you on can drive you mad.
A million lies to sell yourself is all you ever had.

Don’t believe in love. Don’t believe in hate.
Don’t believe in anything that you can’t waste.

You stupid girl. You stupid girl.
Can’t believe you fake it. Can’t believe you fake it.

Don’t believe in fear. Don’t believe in pain.
Don’t believe in anyone that you can’t tame.

You stupid girl. You stupid girl.
All you had you wasted. All you had you wasted.

You stupid girl. You stupid girl.
Can’t believe you fake it. Can’t believe you fake it.

You stupid girl. You stupid girl.
Can’t believe you fake it. Can’t believe you fake it.

You stupid girl.

i’m so happy today

I talked to my best friend, Jing, and she told me that she got her green card so she can now come home for vacation! I’m so happy for her and happy for me too cause I’ll be finally seeing her, I miss her so much! But before she goes home, she’ll be going to Vancouver Washington with her friend who’s also in the U.S. :)

So, she’s planning to come home February or June next year. She was undecided, She wanted to come February because that’s the best time for trips to beaches but she also wanted June because Dahl’s coming home that month. I suggested she come home June so we could all be together (the more the many-er haha!) and because most probably rainy season will be late anyway like this year.

We’re planning to go to Coron in Palawan and Boracay so I’m doing my assignment and trying to come up with an itinerary. And I’m thinking that I really need to buy a camera now! I really want the Nikon D40x and I haven’t decided yet if I’m gonna buy it here or if I’ll ask my cousin to buy it for me in the US. Problem with that is if nobody’s coming home next year then I won’t get my camera until somebody does. And I can’t ask Jing to bring it home because I want to familiarize myself with it before we go on our trips. And I’m only halfway on my budget for the camera so I really have to start saving up!

I’m really excited to go to Coron… so far what I have in the itinerary is a one day island hopping which includes stops to Barracuda Lake and Cayangan Lake, then a one day tour to Calauit Wildlife Safari (travel time alone is 4 to 6 hours), then maybe we can plan a tour of Culion Island (the old leper community).

For Boracay, I don’t think we need an itinerary there. I’ll just look for other fun things to do there aside from swimming and partying.

Now I have to really get in shape especially since the trip to the lakes will require a bit of uphill trekking and I’m not really in shape for that right now. I also have to practice and photography. Can’t wait! :)

quiapo adventure

Most of my clients are coming from the party decorator we hired for my niece’s and nephew’s birthday. She doesn’t like the magazine type of albums, instead, she likes the bulkier magnetic albums in shiny, bright colors. So when she has a client for me the process is like this… (1) I’ll get the CD of photos from her; (2) I’ll do the layout then bring her a CD with lo-res previews for the client; (3) if the client approves and doesn’t want any corrections then I’ll bring her again another CD again with the flattened hi-res files for printing (her uncle prints the photos and gives us a discount), and if the client want some corrections then I have to go back to number 2; (4) after about a week I’ll get the photos from her and go to the album supplier in Tayuman; (5) after another week I’ll get the album from Tayuman and drop it off at her place, and then we’re done. Imagine how many times I have to go back to her place, especially if there are some corrections to be made. So this weekend, I experimented with something new… instead of having her uncle print the photos, I take it to Quiapo (where I get my other albums printed) and wait for about an hour or so then I go to Tayuman afterwards. The printing of the photos costs more than her uncle’s but the lamination is free and I save more on gas.

Here’s my little Quiapo adventure. I was supposed to go there this morning to have the photos printed for an album and to have a magazine style album printed also. So, I was thinking of waiting an hour for the photos and then I’d be heading on to the album supplier in Tayuman. But my sister didn’t tell me until today that they were going to the doctor and that I have to wait till they get back. It was fine with me but I was a little worried because the the album supplier closes at 5pm. So they got back around 3pm and we were able to leave the house about 40 minutes later. We got to Quiapo around 4:15pm and they told me that the photos will be done by 6pm so I called the album supplier and asked if she could wait for me and she said okay. I also had to tell my sister because they all came with me and they would be waiting in the car the whole time because the kids were with them. They’re parked on the other side where the DVDs, you know, are sold so they could buy something and watch it in the car while waiting for me and my mom. So everything was going well when it started raining and guess what… Plaza Miranda and the streets around it get flooded when it’s raining. It’s not really deep but high enough to get my slippers and my feet wet plus it was so crowded, people were running around everywhere and there were vendors on the middle of the road, that my mom and I eventually got wet even though we’ve got umbrellas. And then the album supplier sent me a text message telling me that she couldn’t wait for me any longer and asked me to go to her house instead. It’s near her shop but it’s in another street that I’m not familiar with so we had to look for it. We found it easily but she wasn’t there and I had to talk to this lady who looked like she had no idea what I was talking about. We finally reached home around 7:30pm had dinner and then I went to bed early.

That was quite an adventure for me and I swear I’m never going back to Quiapo on a rainy afternoon. Mornings are just better! :)

Our little baby girl

Our little baby girl is not a baby anymore! She turned 4 today! How fast time flies!

We had a little party at home, just family. We invited a few relatives but they weren’t able to come. It was actually a little irritating because they didn’t even bothered calling or texting to inform us that they were going to be late or that they were not coming anymore. Around 2 p.m. we decided to let the little girl blow the candles on her cake already because our poor baby had been waiting since morning and we just couldn’t let her wait anymore. around 3:30 p.m. I asked my cousin if they were still coming and guess what time she replied… 9 p.m.! I was really irritated and I told her that it was really okay if they weren’t able to come but they could have at least informed us. Imagine if we waited for them before we let the little girl blow her candles, we would have waited for nothing.

Anyway, she still had fun. She was really excited about the balloons, her cake, and her presents. Even the little boy got a present from my mom so he could share the excitement with her sister. We had noodles, tacos, pork barbecue, ice cream, and, of course, the cake. And as always, pictures to follow! :)

Happy birthday my dear little niece! You’ll always be my baby!

Something Fishy

We went to Greenhills yesterday afternoon and I bought something fishy… blank CDs with a fish design. LOL!

I still have some blank CDs but I just couldn’t resist this - 50 pieces for P400. I really love those swirls and the fish design! I also bought those black CD sleeves - 100 pieces for P60. I’m so happy! Yay! LOL… yeah, I’m shallow!

I use the CD envelopes for organizing. That’s where we put all our DVDs and it’s a real space saver. We had to remove our DVDs from their cases because it really takes a lot of space and we’re already running out of place to put them. Then my sister bought this CD rack… it’s got 5 rows, it’s slim and about waist high. Each row can contain about 200 DCDs in those sleeves, then we just had the DVD covers ring-binded.

And you have to see what I did to my Audio CDs. It took me sometime to finish all my CDs but it was very well worth it and I’m proud of it. LOL! And guess what! My sister caved in and organized her CDs too.

A bit scary

Carl got me into the habit of watching the news. So now when I wake up in the morning, first thing I do is turn on the TV and see what’s on CNN and BBC. And when there’s nothing interesting to watch on TV, I also tune in to CNN and BBC World. So anyway, yesterday there were news of a magnitude 8 earthquake hitting Peru with at least 450 dead, a heatwave in Japan killed 7, Hurricane Dean threatening the Caribbean, Hurricane Erin in Texas, Typhoon Sepat in the Philippines, magnitude 6.7 earthquake in Solomon Islands… all of these happened on the same day. Every year, weather changes keep getting worse, I don’t even want to think about what could happen in the next couple of years. I don’t know about you but I think it is scary, isn’t it?

On the other hand, my nephew of course is rejoicing because of the typhoon. They had no classes for three days now and it’ll be a very long weekend since it is also a holiday on Monday. So now we’re spending much time together, we’d solve puzzles with Ariz and play cars with Matthew, then after eating lunch we’d watch a couple of movies in my room and cook something up if we get hungry. Wonder what we’re going to watch today…

Anyway, with everything that’s happening to the world let’s just hang on to our faith and hope things will get better.
