a bit scary

Published by B at 2:51 pm under Forgotten

Carl got me into the habit of watching the news. So now when I wake up in the morning, first thing I do is turn on the TV and see what’s on CNN and BBC. And when there’s nothing interesting to watch on TV, I also tune in to CNN and BBC World. And yesterday there were news of a magnitude 8 earthquake hitting Peru with at least 450 dead, a heatwave in Japan killed 7, Hurricane Dean threatening the Caribbean, Hurricane Erin in Texas, Typhoon Sepat in the Philippines, magnitude 6.7 earthquake in Solomon Islands… all of these happened on the same day. Every year weather changes are getting worse, I don’t even want to think about what could happen in the next couple of years. Scary isn’t it?

On the other hand, my nephew of course is rejoicing because of the typhoon. They had no classes for three days now and it’ll be a very long weekend since it is also a holiday on Monday. So now we’re spending much time together, we’d solve puzzles with Ariz and play cars with Matthew, then after eating lunch we’d watch a couple of movies in my room and cook something up if we get hungry. Wonder what we’re going to watch today…

Anyway, with everything that’s happening to the world let’s just hang on to our faith and hope things will get better.
