another coup attempt?

Remember the Oakwood incident? Looks like there’s a new one involving the same group, Sen. Trillanes and the Magdalo soldiers. This time they’re in Manila Peninsula… I just opened the tv and don’t know yet what’s really happening…

1:47 PM: The PNP is ordering all guests and staff to evacuate the Manila Peninsula right now…

There was a hearing in Makati earlier today regarding the Oakwood mutiny and Sen. Trillanes and his group walked out of the hearing. They are given until 3pm today to resolve this. Apparently, they are asking Pres. Arroyo to step down.

did you feel it?

…just now? For those who are in Manila, I thought that was an earthquake and it wasn’t just my imagination cause I just received a call from nanay (my BIL’s mom) asking me if we felt it too…

No Walls, No Ceiling, No Floor

by Orsa Lia

Let me love you, come close to me
Locked in my arms, you’ll still be free
Don’t be frightened my half flying bluebird
Cause my love has no walls
No walls, no ceiling
No walls, no ceiling, no floor
All my love songs are just for you
Sing them with me and when you do
Don’t be frightened my half flying bluebird
Cause my love has no walls
No walls, no ceiling
No walls, no ceiling, no floor

Go on and fly high in the sky
I’ll never try to burn your wings

Let me love you, come close to me
Locked in my arms, you’ll still be free
Don’t be frightened my half flying bluebird
Cause my love has no walls
No walls, no ceiling
No walls, no ceiling, no floor

I’ve been hearing this song on the radio since I was small but I never really paid attention to the lyrics. The other day, while surfing YouTube, I listened to this song and this time I really listened to the lyrics and I like it. I’ve been playing this song repeatedly today and thought I’d share with you all. Hope you’ll like it too! Happy listening!

Miss Saigon

I was surfing YouTube last night, listening to some old songs, when I stumbled upon a series of videos about the making of the Broadway musical Miss Saigon. I watched everything and I remembered just how much I love Miss Saigon. I remember I even asked my dad’s boss to buy me the songbook when he went to London. Then I would listen to my Miss Saigon tapes and sing along to the whole musical. I also remember in college, Carl and I love to sing Sun and Moon and Last Night of the world. Carl has an amazing voice and he do second voice without any effort. I miss listening to my Miss Saigon tapes now. I might buy the cd when I get some spare money! Haha!

If I’d be given the chance, I’d love to watch the musical, but of course I’d love it if it were still the original cast. Nothing beats the original. And I would also love for them to make a movie of it, just like The Phantom of the Opera, which is another musical that I love!

Copycat

A warning to all Pinoy bloggers… there’s another Pinoy blogger who copies posts from other blogs and claims it as her own. Check out her blog here http://dongskyqt.blogspot.com/. Ang kapal! She even posted a couple of digital scrapbook pages and claimed it as her own work with matching side stories pa, when those pages belongs to my digiscrapping Pinay friends. Ang kapal talaga! So all of you, beware! Ingat na lang sa mga manggagaya!

I Don’t Know Why You Love Me

by Cotton, Lloyd & Christian

I don’t know why you love me
Was it something I said that you read all wrong
When I, I don’t know why you follow me
After all of those times when I left you so far behind

You don’t seem to care if I ever give back
All of the love you’ve given me
You seem to be pleased if you only show me
All of the love inside of you
I wish that I could love that way too

I don’t know why you write me
When I never write back but you answer me anyway
And I don’t know why you love me
But I’m learning to love not depending on love in return

You don’t seem to care if I ever give back
All of the love you’ve given me
You seem to be pleased if you only show me
All of the love inside of you
I wish that I could love that way too

——————–

So, I said last week that this week’s SOTW will be something about my past love. I know I’ve already mentioned his name in this blog a number of times but form now on let’s just call him A. What I’m gonna do is I’m going to choose some lines from the song and tell you an instance that had happened in the past that is somehow related to the lyrics. So, hang on cause this is going to be a long one. By the way, I chose this song because this how I feel A should feel about me. And now we begin…

I don’t know why you love me
Was it something I said that you read all wrong

I don’t know why too. LOL! I saw him on our first enrollment day in college, not knowing that he was my blockmate, and I was already attracted to him. So, I guess it was love at first sight huh? Well, he is good-looking so anyone won’t have a hard time getting attracted to him. What I don’t understand is despite of all the bad things about him, I still fell in love with him.

I don’t know why you follow me
After all of those times when I left you so far behind

This one’s not nice. We climbed Mt. Banahaw and he left me on the trail. It was just fine with me because I’m a slow climber but what irritated me was his lack of care. When we got to the first clearing where we could rest, he didn’t even asked why I was all wet… all he cared about was our lunch, because I was carrying the rice. Our other friend, Mike, was the one who showed care. He asked if I was okay and told me to rest first before preparing our lunch. On our last, we were delayed because one of the climbers wasn’t feeling well and was dehydrated. We had to bring her to the hospital and it was already past midnight and we were still in the province and we had class the next day. I had to look for a pay phone by myself on the dark streets so I could let my parents know why I wasn’t home yet when they were expecting me hours ago. Then when he saw a bus that’s going back to the city, he boarded it without asking me if I’ll be alright or if I could go home okay without him. He just looked me in the eye and then he was gone. When we talked about this trip a few years later A told me that he knew I was already scared and he knew I didn’t even know how to cross the street by myself, yet he let me look for a phone by myself. He knew he should have taken care of me, made sure I was safe, yet for some unexplainable reason, he didn’t. Weird huh?

I don’t know why you write me
When I never write back but you answer me anyway

I wrote him once, a long one, but it wasn’t a love letter… I just thanked him for everything that he had done for me, for being a good friend in spite of everything that had happened between us. He thanked me for the letter and told me he kept it but he joked about it once and I tried to get it back but he didn’t give it back to me.

I don’t know why you love me
But I’m learning to love not depending on love in return

A? I don’t think so!

Well, I hope you all got to know me a little better and enjoyed reading my post. Til next SOTW! :)

I’m not much of a reader but I do enjoy reading. And here are thirteen books that I’ve read more than once. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the last two books. Sweet Dreams is a series of books for teenagers and I’m not sure if they still print those. 2] Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer
3] Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer
4] The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien
5] The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring by J. R. R. Tolkien
6] The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers by J. R. R. Tolkien
7] The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King by J. R. R. Tolkien
8] The House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende
9] The Bridges of Madison County by Robert James Waller
10] The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran
11] The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff

Sorry but I couldn’t find a preview of the last book on my list.

my handwriting

What Your Handwriting Says About You

You are a laid back person with rather low energy. You aren’t lazy… you *are* sensitive and empathetic.

You are very extroverted and outgoing. You are loving, friendly, and supportive. However, you are also manipulative and controlling at times.

You are balanced and grounded. You know how to get along well with others.

You need a bit of space in your life, but you’re not a recluse. You expect people to give you a small amount of privacy, and you respect their privacy as well.

You are conservative, old fashioned, and a little stubborn. You are resistant to change.

You are a decent communicator. You eventually get your point across, but sometimes you leave things a bit ambiguous.

Most of things said here are correct except for “manipulative and controlling at times.” Really? Me?

i noticed

… that I show up as from Caloocan in the live traffic feed by Feedjit when I’m from Quezon City. And what’s up with Google? When they updated a couple of weeks back this blog is PR 3 and now it’s down to PR 2? Or could it be that very few people are visiting me now because I’m not so active anymore? This is sad. I miss my PR 3. :(

Anyway, yesterday we went to Quiapo again. I was supposed to go there last Saturday so I could have a set of layouts printed then to Tayuman to the album supplier. But my sister has to work last Saturday so we moved it to Saunday. Unfortunately, the printer doesn’t laminate on Sundays and Tayuman is closed on Sundays so I just got the photos printed and then I went just back yesterday to bring it to Tayuman. My album supplier was offering me a software and she told me it originally costs P30,000 but she’ll give it to me for half the price. She said it’s like Photoshop but it comes with thousands of templates that’s why it’s expensive. I saw samples of the templates and they weren’t even fabulous. They also now have the magazine style album with no cut in the middle but I don’t like their printing because the colors are dull. Plus my membership at Digiprint Pro just got approved and they offer discounts to members and free delivery. I’m so happy. I’m going to try their services before the year ends and I’ll post some pics here so you guys can see. :)

something funny

A few weeks ago, my sister cleaned their playroom and removed some of their toys. Some will be given to their nanny’s kid and some will be donated to Jollibee’s toy drive. So one time, I tried explaining to my niece that their mom will get rid of some of their toys.

Me: Ariz, we will be giving some of your toys to Jollibee so that Jollibee can give it to the poor kids.

Ariz (talking to her mom): Mom, we will be giving our toys to Jollibee so Jollibee can give it to the other kids who doesn’t have toys.

Me: Yeah, Jollibee will give it to the kids who doesn’t have money to buy toys.

Ariz: How about us? We don’t have money to buy toys!

My sister and I started laughing. Ariz remembered that we sometimes tell them that we don’t have money to buy toys when they want something expensive or when they want to buy something unnecessary. It was really funny! We just tell them that we don’t have money and they’ll understand already. Those kids are really smart for their age!
