Limang Dipang Tao

by Barbie’s Cradle

So last Saturday, after coming home from Tayuman and the hospital, my older nephew and I decided to go back to the hospital so he could visit his baby sister. Of course it also meant eating dumplings and squid balls! Yum! Whenever we go there (Capitol Medical Center) my nephew and I always go on a food trip at the Dimsum N Dumplings outside the hospital lobby. And we’d also buy chicken balls, squid balls and tokneneng on the vendor across the street.

We thought about staying until my niece’s pediatrician visits her but it was already 5 in the afternoon and she still hasn’t done her rounds so we decided to leave already. My nephew and I took a jeep and decided to drop by National Bookstore first before going home.

We had to wait awhile for the jeepney. It was my first time to ride a jeepney again after a very long time. The last time I rode a jeep, the basic fare was only P4.50 and now it’s already P7.50. Not that I don’t commute or I don’t know how to commute, it’s just that I’m too lazy to walk so I always ride a taxi cab.

It was fun to ride a jeepney again. I missed it actually, but only short trips like that one. i don’t like long jeepney rides because it’s hot and dusty… well, except when I’m in the province. Two of my ultimate jeepney goals is to ride the jeepney topload and sumabit sa jeep. Lol! Yeah, I see it as an ultimate adventure. I’ve already ridden the jeepney topload when I went to Sagada and would love to do it again. What I haven’t done yet is sumabit sa jeep. Hahaha! But I really want to do this someday…

Busy Weekend

Yep it’s been a busy weekend for me. Well not really busy but eventful.

Friday, my brother-in-law, my niece, my nephew and I drove off to Trinoma to fetch my mom and my sister. This time my BIL decided to park at the rooftop to save gas because we can’t really park and wait outside the mall so if we don’t park in the parking lot then we have to drive around and around while waiting for them. So, he decided to pay P40 for the parking instead of wasting gas, which is more expensive.

The view from the rooftop was really pretty at night. you can see the cars’ tail lights down below and big billboards on EDSA. I’m thinking of bringing a camera next time we go there. Unfortunately we didn’t stay long, we weren’t even able to wait for my mom and my sister because my niece threw up inside the car. We had to go home so she can change to dry clothes and to get the car cleaned. She ate a lot of food pa naman because it was her nanny’s birthday and we bought some food and cake to celebrate.  She threw up a couple of times more at home and my sister and BIL decided to bring her to the hospital already to prevent her from getting dehydrated. They went to the hospital around 10pm already and they were given a room madaling araw na and sa ward pa. They had to share the room with another kid who seemed to be in the same condition as my niece. It turns out she had viral gastroenteritis. And seems to be getting around because the baby of her cardiologist also had viral gastroenteritis a few days earlier. She’s still in the hospital right now and will be out tomorrow. I did visit her twice yesterday but I wasn’t able to go there today because I have stomach cramps. My younger nephew, Matthew, visited her today and he sure misses her a lot.

Yesterday morning, I went to Tayuman to get my client’s album. It wasn’t disastrous this time and they followed my every instructions. I even called midweek to tell them to stamp the celebrant’s name on the cover in gold and to make sure that the spellings’ correct and they followed everything correctly. From Tayuman, I dropped off the album to the party decorator and eto naman yung sumablay. This party supplier is the one who’s giving me most of my clients. But what I don’t like about her is that she’s meticulous, she’s the one doing the approving and disapproving of the album’s layout instead of the client. I sent her a text message the day before to let her know that I’ll be dropping off the album and so that she could prepare the balance and the other cds that I need. When I got there yesterday, she wasn’t home and she forgot to leave it to the maids. Their house is the typical Chinese compounds here in Manila. You know, big building, three or four stories high, divided into three units and then one big gate. She doesn’t invite me inside and make me wait outside the gate whenever I go there (unless we’re the one’s having a party and she’s decorating, then she’d us in the office). And this time I waited soooooo long because the maids had to call her pa and they had to look for the cds and they had to pool money pa because she didn’t leave any. Hay nacoo… I told the maids na nga lang that I was in a hurry so they would hurry up also… siguro I waited outside their gate for about 30 minutes. Anyway, I have to be patient because like what I’ve said she’s the one who’s giving me projects.

So that’s my week… I’ll share something about jeepneys tomorrow. Haha! :)

Mango Bravo

My BIL, niece, nephews and I fetched my mom and my sister at the Triangle North Mall today. (Yes, Triangle North Mall is Trinoma… natuwa lang ako when I found out what Trinoma stands for and I felt the need to use it sometime. LOL!) We didn’t go down anymore, we just waited inside the car because we were all wearing pambahay. And while waiting for them to arrive, my BIL decided to buy Conti’s famous Mango Bravo cake. We even forgot what it’s called and had to ask for their “bestseller cake that’s mango flavored” haha! It was actually our first time to buy the whole cake to be brought home. Buying that cake was like an adventure… hahaha. The cake had a two-hour travel time. It is available in two sizes and we bought the large one without thinking that it has to be stored in the freezer. It was so big that it was puzzling how we would let it fit inside the freezer. But it tastes good. It is a bit like sansrival except that the it is a bit more spongy than crunchy. And what I really like about it is it’s not too sweet, so you can finish a whole slice without thinking so much of diabetes and you won’t actually feel too thirsty after finishing the whole slice. Haha! One slice is so huge… it’s like you’re eating two slices of a regular-sized cake. So there you go… my Mango Bravo adventure. :)

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!! Sorry I’m a little late… had been a little busy and a little sick that’s why the lack of update on this blog. Anyway, I’m back! I’ve finally changed my blog look… I’ve used Birgit’s Retro products at CatScrap… isn’t it nice? I’ve always been a lover of nature that’s why I think the leaves and the tree would be perfect.

So how’s your new year? Mine is pretty good. I already have a couple of projects lined up so it looks like it’s going to be a pretty busy month for me. My best friend is here in the country for a two week vacation. We already went to Tagaytay over the weekend and it was fun. I’ll tell you more about our trip on a separate post, with pictures of course. :) My brother-in-law is also back in the country after a 3-month trip to the US. My nephew just celebrated his 3rd birthday. What else? That’s about it… I’ll post more updates later. :)
