Reunion With Palawan
Next year will be the 10th year anniversary of my travel to Palawan and I really really wanted to go back there. My friend and I were planning to go there this year but it won’t push through anymore because she had an emergency and was forced to use her vacation leaves. So, I thought that I might as well still go there even if I have to travel alone… I was planning to travel alone anyway, but of course company would always be welcome. I really have to do planning very carefully for I really have a very limited budget, and I’m still planning to buy a DSLR before going on any major trip.
What I have in mind is to go to Coron this time, since I wasn’t able to go there last time. My itinerary includes island hopping, safari tour at the Calauit Game Preserve & Wildlife Sanctuary, Culion Island tour and of course just bumming around the beach, kayaking and snorkeling. The Island hopping will include trips to Lake Cayangan and Barracuda Lake. The Culion Island tour includes trips to the museum, church and Spanish Fort Remains. Sounds pretty exciting isn’t it?
Now about the accommodations… What I don’t like about my country is that not everyone is tech savvy so there are actually a lot of businesses which don’t have their own website. Which reminded me of what my co-worker said before… “If it’s not on the the net, it’s not on Earth!” Haha! And this is just hard for me because I really want to see how a place looks like before going there, you know so I won’t get disappointed. I’ve searched online for hotel reservation sites like IslandsAccommodations and AsiaHotels but their hotel lists are very limited. Good thing I bumped into HotelsCombined and it has an extensive lists of good hotels in Palawan.
So, what are my choices? I’d love to stay in Amanpulo! I mean, who wouldn’t? The place is really gorgeous and it is awarded as the best resort in South East Asia! But I couldn’t afford it. Haha! And even if I could, I guess I’ll just spend my money on other things, maybe on another trip to another exotic place. My next choice is Club Paradise in Dimakya Island. But I’m really thinking about this one because almost everyone I know who goes to Coron stays here. If you’re looking for comfort then this place is perfect. But it’s really not for me. So, my perfect choice is… Sangat Island Reserve! This place is really for me and when I found out about it I really fell in
with it! It is an extraordinary resort concept which will change the way travelers think about and enjoy vacations by providing guests with a relaxing natural experience as an antidote to their stressful ‘high-tech’ everyday life. Very me! And their rates are very practical and even their guided tours are cheaper than what other resorts offer.
About the budget… I’m guessing I’ll be needing at least 30k if I want to do everything that I wanted to do. Of course it will be cheaper if I have company but I’m preparing for the worst. Haha! I’m also planning to take a ferry one way and a plane the other way. By the way, did you know that Super Ferry has tripid fares? You get about 50% off their regular rates if you pay at least 2 days in advance. Good deal isn’t it? I’m planning on staying there for at least three days. I’ve already checked the schedules and here’s what I’ve come up with for 3 days and 2 nights stay
Option 1:
Friday ETD 7:20 am | ETA 8:20 am (Asian Spirit aka spirit ka na lang pagdating mo! Haha!)
Sunday ETD 10:45 pm | ETA 11:59 am (SuperFerry talagang trip kita!)
Option 2:
Friday ETD 7:10 am | ETA 8:20 am (SEAIR)
Sunday ETD 10:45 pm | ETA 11:59 am (SuperFerry)
Option 3:
Friday ETD 5:45 pm | ETA 7:00 am Saturday (SuperFerry)
Monday ETD 4:50 pm | ETA 6:00 pm (SEAIR)
Can you can tell I’m really obsessed in planning this trip? Haha! I really want this to push through… I’ll make it happen! Yeah, baby! That’s the spirit! Now… how to raise my fund? More rakets please!!! ![]()
