I have to download big files from Rapidshare so I bought a premium account for 3 days so I don’t have to wait for 15 minutes anymore before my next download. And guess what! It’s limited to 2.66 GB downloads per day, unless you want to pay more to increase your limit. Haha! I had to laugh! Alang kwenta!
I really like the song Time In by Yeng Constantino but not because I’m working and I can relate to the time in part, that was ages ago for me. I don’t know, but I really like to sing it and it’s funny, especially the line “wag kang kokontra kung ayaw mong masipa sa mukha.” Haha! In fact, I made an all about me page based on the lyrics. Wala lang, I just saw this taray picture of me with a sheepish grin and thought I’d do something to it and here’s what I came up with:
Time In
by Yeng Constantino
Dahil ngayong gabi ako’y titingalain, ngayong gabi
Dahil ngayong gabi ako’y titingalain, ngayong gabi
Hanggang kailan kaya, hanggang kailan kaya
Alas-nuebe na, traffic pa
Kailangan ko nang magmadali at magta-time in pa
is not a very good day for me. I just declined a very good friend’s wedding invitation. I’m really happy for him but I’ve got my reasons why I declined. I really hope he’ll understand. He’s got to… after all he’s the one who understands how I really feel.
I’ve actually been thinking about this for sometime now and decided not to go just now, after receiving my friend’s text about the invitation. This friend of mine became one of those very few whom I could open up my whole heart to. But a lot is on my mind and I honestly don’t know what to think anymore and I know my decisions lately are senseless. Argh! I hate this feeling!!!
Aaaarrggghh! Okay, I just need to vent… The party coordinator gave me a client and the theme of her daughter’s party was Disney’s Jojo’s Circus. So, I looked for big cliparts on the net that I could use for the album layout but found none. I mentioned this to the coordinator and asked her if she has some that I could use or maybe a book that I could scan, wala din daw. So, I asked her if it would be okay to just use generic circus cliparts and she said no. Haha! I had to laugh! Pano kaya yon? And I’m definitely not buying a book, if there is one, just for this one client.
I already took a look at the photos of the party to see if there’s anything there that I could extract, like the standee or the backdrop, but everything I found was blurry. So, I simply told the coordinator that I already exhausted all my resources and there’s nothing more I could do about it. Try daw niya maghanap. Haha!
To go or not to go?
On another note, Lomomanila has a newbie lomo walk scheduled tomorrow at the Intramuros area. I really want to go but I’m not sure yet. It’s actually part of something that I’ve been thinking about lately. And if it doesn’t work out… oh well. I’m actually torn between going to the lomo walk or going out with a friend. So, what do you think should I choose?
Nope, it’s not yet my birthday. Haha! I just got this from Facebook, an application called “What does your birthday mean” and here’s what it says about mine:
You are the rebel with a relentlessly restless nature. Smart but when unleashed, you tend to seek out exotic experiences over new ideas. People are flustered by your great potential, but you love your unconventional life. You’re a heartbreaker, though not always knowingly. People get attached to you, and then you move on.
And yes it’s very true! (Except for the heartbreaker part) Read the words rebel and unconventional? And did you read the last sentence? Parang bad girl na bad girl and dating. Haha!
I definitely need a new pair of eyeglasses because my recent one already has a scratch on one of the lenses and I can feel that my grade has changed. I browsed Zenni Optical, the popular online eyeglasses shop, and saw that they have $ 8 Complete Rx Eyeglasses. That’s a real good deal! I think it’s even cheaper than the optical shops in malls have to offer. Anyway, holiday glass frames from Zenni Optical are now available and I love this one:
I don’t exactly know why but I’m really attracted to anything with stripes! I just might ask my cousin to buy it for me and bring it when he comes here for a vacation, hopefully soon.
Yesterday, I was supposed to go to Quiapo to have some photos printed then to my album supplier in Tayuman. And it took me a while before I decided to go because I was feeling really lazy yesterday (like today! Haha!). So, I woke up my dad and asked him to drive me to the village gate, withdrew some money then took a cab going to Quiapo. I was already in Quezon Avenue when I decided to check my bag and, as I was kinda expecting, I didn’t have the CD of the photos with me! Hay buhay!!!
Good thing I decided to bring this one unprocessed film with me. Before I left the house, I was undecided if I should drop by Fujicolor in Sto. Domingo to get the film processed or not. Yun pala yun ang ending ko. I just decided to go to Fuji since I didn’t have anything with me to be printed. The story of the film naman, it is a black & white film which can’t be cross processed. I had to bring it to Fuji’s main office and they are going to send it off somewhere for the processing then they’ll scan the negatives after that. So, it’s going to take 10 days before I could claim it.
After going to Fuji, I proceeded to National Bookstore to look if Paulo Coehlo’s book, Veronika Decides To Die, is already avaiable, which was not! I’m telling you, that book is so frustating! LOL! I was able to get hold of an ebook version of that book but it wasn’t complete and any bookstore that I go to doesn’t have a copy of the book. So anyway, I ended up buying stuff that I think would help me get organized. Haha! As if! I bought a couple of notepads, post-its, pens in 5 colors, and foam for my Holga. Then I headed home.
Now, I’m supposed to go Quiapo again but I’m really super tamad!
Hello my dear bloggy friends! Did you miss me? Haha! Yeah, it’s been awhile… I got busy because my mom got home from the US and a few relatives also came home for a vacation. I’ve been to Batangas and Mindoro for at least a week and I’ll post about it sometime soon.
In the meantime, I just want to share this with you guys, especially to those who still believe that film is not dead. Are you familiar with redscaling? As some of you may know, I’m interested in Lomography and I bought my lomo cams when I went to the province and tried redscaling for the first time. Read on to know more about redscale…
What is Redscale?
Redscale is the name given to a technique of shooting photographic film where the film is exposed from the wrong side, i.e the emulsion is exposed through the base of the film. Normally, this is done by winding the film in upside-down into an empty film canister. The name “redscale” comes because there is a strong color shift to red due to the red-sensitive layer of the film being exposed first, rather than last (the red layer is normally the bottom in C-41), at least when C-41 film is used. All layers are sensitive to blue light, so normally the blue layer is on top, followed by a filter. In this technique, blue light exposes the layers containing red and green dyes, but the layer containing blue dye is left unexposed due to the filter. E-6 (color slide) film has also been used for this technique.
Depending on the type of film used, the resulting colors seem to range from maroon, to red, to orange, to yellow.
The technique seems to have been discovered accidentally. Some people shooting large format color film would load the individual negatives backwards. This phenomenon is likely as old as color film itself. However, it has only recently gained popularity as an effect intentionally sought.
The technique is considered by some to be part of the lo-fi photography movement, along with use of toy cameras, pinhole cameras, instant cameras, and sprocket hole photography. (Source: Wikipedia)
So, I bought some Solid Gold films in Quiapo to use in redscale. (They’re pretty cheap, only P50 if you buy in bulk) I also bought a changing bag worth P800 (I know, this hobby is getting to be expensive but I’m really loving it!). I bought 5 films and redscaled it all and used 2 rolls in Batangas. And here’s some sample of my redscale shots:
