New Phone & Story Behind It

I bought a new phone but I don’t have the phone with me right now. I bought it on the 24th, and yesterday, while I was checking out the features, I noticed that there were already a few contacts in the address book, a photo of a girl on the media gallery, and a calls history. And it restarted 3x times already, once while I was listening to an audiobook, and twice when it was just on top of my computer table. My nephew bought the same phone and at the same time with me also but nothing’s wrong with his phone. When I was buying the phone, they made me wait for a while because they had to get the unit from somewhere outside the phone. Now, I think that what they gave me was a used one. So, I called them earlier today asking for a replacement and the girl I was talking to told me that they have to check the phone first and see if they can do something with the restarting. That made me furious and I insisted that they replace it with a new one. I told the girl that if I wanted a used phone, even just a slightly used one, then I would have bought it in Greenhills at a much cheaper price. And they weren’t sure how long it’s going to take before they can replace my phone… they’re not even sure if they’re going to replace it. HAHA!

I told them it can’t take long because I don’t have an extra phone to use. The girl asked me to bring the unit today and I said I’m not sure if I could today and she her response was something like “kase kung hindi ngayon eh baka matagalan pa.” Kaines! Eh anong magagawa niya kung busy ako the whole day? Buset! Haha! But I was very patient with her… it is Christmas time after all and I did return the phone today. We went to Bocaue first to buy fireworks then went to Trinoma afterwards to return it.

So, that’s the story behind my new phone.

Officially Sick

I am! This morning I woke up with a cold and a pain on my throat. I hate it when I’m sick! And the worst part is I couldn’t drink any meds because I’m allergic. So I have to heal myself using the natural way… lots of fluid and vitamin C. I just hope I won’t be sick anymore when the new year comes or else I’m gonna be sickly the whole of 2009. Haha!

It’s Christmas Time

Hi all! Yes, three more sleeps and it’s Christmas time! This Christmas is more of a refection time for me, what I’ve done with my life, what I still want to make of it, what will my goals be in the near future, next year in particular, had I been naughty or nice. Naughty? Haha!

You know I’ve always wanted to be different. And I’ve always wanted to make a difference even if just in my own small, weird ways. And here’s a Christmas song that has always touched me. For me it’s the best Christmas song!

Do They Know It’s Christmas
by Band Aid

It’s Christmas time, there’s no need to be afraid
At Christmas time, we let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world at Christmas time

But say a prayer, pray for the other ones
At Christmas time it’s hard but when you’re having fun
There’s a world outside your window and it’s a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears
And the Christmas bells that ring there are the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it’s them instead of you

And there won’t be snow in Africa this Christmas time
The greatest gift they’ll get this year is life
Where nothing ever grows, no rain nor rivers flow
Do they know it’s Christmas time at all

Here’s to you, raise a glass for everyone
Here’s to them, underneath that burning sun
Do they know it’s Christmas time at all

Feed the world, feed the world, feed the world
Let them know it’s Christmas time again

Feed the world, let them know it’s Christmas time again
Feed the world, let them know it’s Christmas time again
Feed the world, let them know it’s Christmas time again
Feed the world, let them know it’s Christmas time again

Robert Pattinson

G & Gari came over today to give me the invitation to their wedding. We were watching the Twilight DVD and Gari was working on his laptop when he suddenly said that “Isn’t he the guy from Harry Potter?” referring to Edward. Scenes from the Harry Potter movies started flashing inside my head and I just couldn’t place him. So I asked G and she said that Robert Pattinson also played Cedric Driggory in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. And I was like “Oh yeah.” Now, whenever I see him, I remember Harry Potter instead of Twilight.

Flossing

Last night I had a dream and I was flossing my teeth! Haha! I really couldn’t recall the details anymore… all I know is I was flossing my thing… that’s it! Weird! I tried to search for the interpretation but the closest I found is brushing:

To dream that you are brushing your teeth, signifies your level of confidence, struggles and aggressiveness. You need to look out for yourself and your own interest. Perhaps, you feel that your standing or position is shaky.

I wonder if this could also be the same as flossing…

Reading Again

I’ve started reading again and I am very pleased. My goal is to read at least one book a week and so far, I’m able to do it. I’ve already finished Nights in Rodanthe and Veronika Decides to Die. Next is The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. Anyway, I really need my eyes checked really soon. I know I’ve been saying this a lot but I’m really starting to notice it.

I really don’t know how to choose the right frame that would look good on me but I just want a plain pair of eyeglasses like this one:

It’s from the popular online eyeglasses shop, Zenni Optical. And they have $ 8 Complete Rx Eyeglasses, which I think is really cheap. I remember my cousin got her eyeglasses here in the Philippines when she came here for a visit. She needs a new pair and I’m going to recommend to herthe huge selection of holiday glass frames from Zenni Optical. There’s a lot of colors and designs to choose from, I’m sure she’s gonna love it.

My Weekend

Hmmm…. how did I spend my weekend? Lemme think…

Okay, last Saturday, I was supposed to go to a friend’s house but I had a migraine attack so I wasn’t able to go. After dinner, I asked my nephew if he’d go walking with me and he said yes. As I was getting ready, he entered my room and asked if I’d want to go to the mall instead. He even justified it and told me we’d still be walking excepton a different venue. Haha! He sounded like he really wanted me to go so I did. Hay nacoo, it’s realy hard to turn down kids no? Pano na kaya kung anak ko. Haha! As if!

So anyway, we went window shopping for shoes. Then we went to Dairy Queen for ice cream. Mind you, it was hot inside the mall… I don’t know if they turned down the aircon or it’s because there were too many people. We also went to the toy store and the bookstore and I finally got a copy of Veronika Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho.

And we bumped to my friend from high school, Lorie. We actually saw her brother first and it didn’t register to me who he was. He just smiled at me while talking to my brother-in-law (we were all from the same school) and I kept pointing to another guy whom we know. So anyway, I got a clue who he was when they already started about McDonald’s Happy Meal toys. Haha! Just a few days ago, Kuya Chris told me that Lorie’s brother collects Happy Meal toys. And then a few minutes later, Lorie arrived to where we were (in the middle of the toy section of Landmark in Trinoma. Haha!) and we started talking about each other’s lives, about our other barkadas, and about our other batchmates. We stood there for about 30 minutes then it was time to go home.

Sunday, I didn’t do much this day. I just stayed in front of the computer most of the time. But I did cleanup the dining table after lunch! Haha! The maids were in a clubhouse because there was a tiangge and my tita had a booth there. I went there later that night but they were already closing so I didn’t do see anything either.

So, that’s my weekend… pretty boring.

Never Think

I just finished listening to Twilight’s original motion picture soundtrack and I like it! The songs are just the perfect mix. And this one is what I like the best, apart from Claire De Lune… Never Think by Rob Pattinson. I like his style and he actually sounded like Ben Harper. So, here’s to all the Twilight fans out there. :)

Never Think
Rob Pattison

I should never think
What’s in your heart
What’s in our home
So I won’t

You’ll learn to hate me
But still call me baby
Oh love
So call me by my name

And save your soul
Save your soul
Before you’re too far gone
Before nothing can be done

I’ll try to decide when
She’ll lie in the end
I ain’t got no fight in me
In this whole damn world
Tell you to hold off
You choose to hold on
It’s the one thing that I’ve known

Once I put my coat on
I’m coming out in this all wrong
She’s standing outside holding me
Saying oh please
I’m in love
I’m in love

Girl save your soul
Go on save your soul
Before it’s too far gone
And before nothing can be done

Cause without me
You got it all
So hold on
Without me you got it all
So hold on
Without me you got it all
Without me you got it all
So hold on
Without me you got it all
So hold on
Without me you got it all
So hold on
Hold on
