Pluto’s First Day Out

We went to Punto Miguel in Anilao, Batangas last weekend and it was the first time I brought Pluto with me. I brought my ever reliable pink Holga with me too but I only took a few photos because the sun was too hot. But I was able to take some photos of Pluto around the resort and here are a few…

I notice that the shots from the Velvia film is greenish when processed. Next time I’ll try other brands of film and not to cross-process it.

You can see the rest of the Punto Miguel set here.

Litratong Pinoy: Sapatos

——————————

This is my entry for this week’s Litratong Pinoy.

I love shoes but I don’t have many because it’s very seldom that I see a pair that I really, really like. And most of the time I would only buy outdoorsy types that I could use when I travel. An example is the sandals that I was wearing on the photo. I bought this because my old one already broke and we were leaving for Lobo and Mindoro. What attracted me to this pair was the colors. What I don’t like about it is the plastic or rubber smell that couldn’t be removed.

Photos

The photos I had developed and scanned just arrived! Yay! I took a peek already and there were some pretty good shots. O f course, there were some bad shots too but it’s understandable with lomo. Unfortunately, only a couple of shots came out of my nephew’s films. I have to watch him closely next time to see what he’s doing wrong.

I’ll post some photos here and on my travel blog later. We’ll just go to the mall to look for seat lifts for my uncle. TTYL!

Gaw-lu

My sister, niece, nephews and I went to Malabon today. We first went to the bank to open an account for my uncle’s business. The kids were so kulet… Matthew fell off the chair. Good thing he didn’t get a bruise or something because there were no area rugs, just tiles. But he was really funny, we all laughed, even him! Our next stop was in Acacia. My nephew went to a pet shop there to buy some supplies for his pet shrimps. While waiting for him, I bought some turon at a nearby store. We didn’t like it that much but we still ate it. Haha!

Our next stop was supposed to be the skin care clinic in Navotas but we decided to eat merienda first near my mom’s office. We ate gaw-lu (congee) at Boga’s. The place wasn’t really nice but the food was really yummy! One thing I really miss about Malabon is the food. Food there really tastes good and seems like there’s a store at every corner… from sari-sari store to houses which sells different varieties of snacks. Anyway, I also ate lumpiang gulay and shanghia (spring rolls - veggies and ground pork). After eating, we dropped by the church for awhile and then fetched my mom from her office then we proceeded to the clinic in Navotas.

I Don’t Love You Anymore

Need I say more? Haha! The girl’s part of this song is very true for me… and kinda what I’ve been doing… running my way to the exit signs. Yep, there’s no other way for me to go now but out the door. I have to leave to burn the bridges… just like what my friend advised me. Sad, I know. By the way, if you can find the version by Lea Salong and Ariel Rivera, listen to that one, it’s more emo.

I DON’T LOVE YOU ANYMORE
By The New Minstrels

I’ve been thinking, it seems we’re going nowhere
You don’t share my feelings, it doesn’t seem fair
I guess there’s nothing much more I can do
I know I’ve got to try and make it without you

I don’t love you anymore
Can’t you see, it’s just no good
I’ve gotta walk out that door
There’s nothing left to say
I’ve gotta go my way
Try and understand

We’ve had bad times but that’s no reason to go
I can’t live without you, I need you, don’t you know
That I still love you, don’t, don’t do this to me
You know I won’t make it alone, can’t you see

I don’t love you anymore (Don’t do this to me)
Can’t you see it’s just no good
I’ve gotta walk out that door (That’s no reason to go)
There’s nothing left to say (I can’t live without you)
I ‘ve gotta go my way
Oh no…

I don’t love you anymore (Don’t do this to me)
Can’t you see it’s just no good
I’ve gotta walk out that door (That’s no reason to go)
There’s nothing left to say (I can’t live without you)
I ‘ve gotta go my way
Try and understand (Okay, If there’s no other way then go)

Yen’s QOTW #51

It’s been awhile since I last joined Yen’s Questions of the Week. It was really fun answering the questions so I thought I’d join again. If you want to join too, just click here.

1. How’s the week going on so far?
Good… I finished a lot of tasks already.

2. Would you rather love or be loved?
Naturally I’d answer I’d want to love but I’m thinking that after all that I’ve been through, I’d rather be loved. I think it is just about time. :)

3. How do you feel when you hear a friend completely butchering a story?
It actually depends on how and why but usually I would just laugh to myself knowing I knew the real story.

4. If you could have a recorder which would make a DVD or video tape of your dreams, would you use it?
Definitely yes. I have such vivid dreams it would be interesting to watch them over and over and try to figure out their meanings.

5. Have you ever had a dream about being a place you’ve never been, and days or years later, you end up there?
I’m not sure.

6. Do you sit at your computer and eat snacks and have refreshments to drink?
Sometimes.

7. Which is more true: everything matters or nothing matters?
Everything matters.

8. What was the last thing you gave up on?
Him (AA).

9. Can the love of a person really make you change?
Yep, I’ve proven it already.

10. Any plans for the weekend yet?
I’ll probably just stay home or just to the mall, I think the oldies are going somewhere Saturday night. We’ll be participating in Earth Hour too.

Thanks Yen for the questions. By the way, I’m helping my nephew look for a good college course… I really have no idea what courses are available now… medical coding training courses maybe. Any suggestions?

Busy Day

Tuesday (March 24) was a busy day. My sister and I went out to accomplish some tasks. The kids were with us, of course. We first went to the banks to pay the bills. We even saw an old schoolmate from Malabon. She’s a batch older than me but she remembered me. We then proceeded to DigiPrint in Tomas Morato to get my negatives developed. Then we went to the mall.

We actually went there to meet with my uncle’s auditor. We ate merienda first before eating with them. The mall wasn’t too crowded but there a lot of sales agent offering term life insurance quote and it was a little annoying, especially those who would follow you and wouldn’t give up. Anyway, like always, we bought ice cream from DigiPrint after eating. Yummy! The kids and I ate the ice cream while my sister talked to the auditor.

After finishing the ice cream, the kids and I went to the toy store and my sister followed afterwards. Then we met with my mom and I bought an electric fan before heading home. I had to buy a fan because I think I broke half the fans at home. Haha!

Pluto’s Adventures

I used to have this small teddy bear whose name was Miguel and I was planning to put the spotlight on him by bringing him with me on my travels and posting about it here in my blog. Unfortunately, I cannot find him anymore. I’ve looked high and low but still couldn’t find him. I thought of buying a new teddy bear but decided to just make one of my toys my new travel buddy. Now, I’d like you all to meet Pluto!

Pluto

Nope, there’s no mistake here. He is a Snoopy plush but his name is Pluto. He’s part of a Snoopy plush series that McDonald’s released in 2000. This one is the 1960 Love and Peace Snoopy and he’s wearing a glow-in-the-dark bracelet. Groovy, isn’t he?

Pluto will be my travel buddy from now on.

Story Behind The Name

I like Snoopy but I’m not really a big fan, but I am a fan of anything groovy so, when McDonald’s came out with this series I knew I had to get this particular one. I really love his tie-dyed shirt and bandana! :) Anyway, I showed it to my friend Dave and asked him if he knew which character it was and he answered “Of course, that’s Pluto.” We all laughed and called my toy Pluto from then on.

Business

Have you ever thought of putting up your own business? A friend of mine has this burger business and I thought of buying a franchise from him. It wasn’t possible because his plan was to do it a little differently, by area. For example, I have to at least have 10 branches in my area. I don’t have have to own all 10 branches but I have to manage all 10. And it’s sort of a packaged deal. I have to like buy the 10 franchises and then sell those I don’t want to keep to others. I know, it is complicated. It also involves a lot more money than I assumed. Oh well, I guess I’ll just stick to my layouting services.

Métiers d’Art Les Masques

Have you seen Vacheron Constantin’s Métiers d’Art Les Masques Edition 2007 and 2008? I’m telling you they’re really, really, really gorgeous! I can say that these are now my dream watches! (Not that I even have one before. Haha!) The 2008 edition is limited to 25 sets of 4 watches where each features a mask from a different continent stemming from the world’s most important private collection of primitive art, the Barbier Mueller Museum in Geneve, Switzerland. The watches are made in platinum, yellow gold, white gold, and pink gold. Yummy!
