Gardening

My dad has a green thumb and he absolutely loves gardening. He actually got me interested with the hobby. I have this small balcony outside my room and I want to turn it into a mini garden… sort of like my own little corner where I can rest, read books, listen to music, or simply laze around. I want to put a comfy chair there with a small table with lamp and of course, lots of plants all around. I want lots of flowering plants and a few herbs.

I’ve talked to my dad about this and he’s going to help me of course. We’re actually thinking of using hydroponic systems both on his garden and mine. Hydroponics is a method of growing plants using mineral nutrient solutions, in water, without soil. This is beneficial for me because  my room will become lest dusty with the absence of soil. Nice eh? We’re currently looking for stores which can help us with building the system at a reasonable price and where we can buy the supplies. I’m also doing a lot of reading about hydroponics and gardening in general. I don’t want to be totally dependent on my dad and would eventually want to do things on my own. Hydroponics has a few advantages compared to traditional gardening. First is no soil. Another one is the water stays in the system and can be re-used. It is really practical, especially on a tropical country like mine, where water sometimes has a schedule during the sunny season.

I have tried caring for a plant without soil. It uses a clay pebbles instead of soil and I only needed to water it at least once a week. I named the miniature tree Treebeard. Unfortunately, it died because I placed it beside my computer monitor and the heat did it. But I’m going to buy a new one and will try again.

Cash advance loans to feed my fangirl craze

So many things to buy, so little money. I have a few Korean dramas DVDs on my “to buy” list but I can not afford them right now. My PayPal is empty and my credit card is already maxed out. So, I’m considering availing cash advance loans. There are some loans available which are fast, secure and doesn’t require a credit report. I know I have to pay for the interest but it doesn’t really matter… I’m not going to borrow a lot, anyway. I just need enough to feed this Korean craziness of mine. And I have watched only a few Korean dramas… what if more after I watched the others that are on my list… I know, I know, think I’m going crazy! Not that I can’t wait to have these goodies on hand but some of the dramas are already old and some of the DVDs for sale are getting out of print already. So, I need to act fast. There are loans I can apply to online and I’ll be able to receive the money in less than a week. That would be great!

Another thing why I’ll be needing a loan is because I teamed up with a friend to start a small selling business. We already have a few items ready to sell but we need a little more capital to add more goodies to our store. It really looks promising and I’m thinking that this will also help me with my fangirling craziness. Yes, everything for being a fan girl… I’m thinking of using the money I’ll earn from the business to buy my fangirling stuff and merchandises. So, for  the next few days, I’ll be busy checking out sites and companies offering cash advance loans to see which one will be best for me.

Moving Quotes and Concerns: Television

Your evenings have been claimed, given to the long hours and easy amusements of a screen. Your time is dedicated to the trials and triumphs of fictional characters — all their little woes and the implausible (but never unwanted) solutions. The television is your great indulgence; and, now that you must move, you have only one true concern: how are you going to pack it? It’s a massive, fragile thing with so many weaknesses and too few strengths. It can break. It can falter. And it can leave you with only filaments and pieces.

This is why you must use caution and follow all the necessary rules. A relocation doesn’t have to be tenuous. It can instead be practical:

1. Choose the proper containment: Your television came in a box (some perfectly formed strip of cardboard that kept it safe and snug). If you were one of the lucky few who kept that box, then your worries are needless. If you happened to toss it away, however, thinking you’d never use it, you’ll have to find another option. Look for plastic containers that will allow the device to rest flatly. If that choice is not available, seek out appliance stores and see if they have an empty box for your particular model.

2. Use protection: Never assume a simple layer of newspaper clippings or linen will suffice during a move. Surround your television with foam and packing peanuts to ensure that it’s not jostled or scratched.

3. Consider professionals: If you’re trekking across the country, heavy lifting and endless boxes may be too much for you to handle. Compare moving quotes of companies to discover the cost of transportation and the value of insurance. For delicate items, professional assistance may be warranted.

You’re devoted to the plasma effects and bright lights of your television; and you must now ensure that those lights don’t fade.

Learning how to drive…

My sister and I went out sometime last week to look at car insurance quotes for our dear car when I realized I really should learn how to drive soon. And we’ll have to maintain our car insurance if that’s to happen. Lol! I actually already know how to drive but I don’t have a license yet. My driving lessons was already ages ago but I still remember it somehow. I was able to test my driving skills when I went to the province early this year. My aunt let me use their pick-up truck to practice on the vacant lot near their home. It wasn’t bad… the area was huge and a little bumpy, I was able to drive using up to 2nd gear. Good thing there were no cows at the vacant lot that time or who knows what might have happened. Haha!

I’m going back there next year and hopefully I’ll be able to practice more. And maybe this time I’ll be able to conquer the roads too!

Apple Bottoms

I’m not really into shopping for clothes, I’m more on shoes and accessories. More of my clothes were bought by my dad and mom… yes, until now. But I do shop sometimes, especially when I see something I really, really like. And I love window shopping on the net to look for something unique. And look at what I found:

It’s an apple bottoms brand sandals. Cute isn’t it? I love, love the different jewels on the sandals and the fun colors. How I wish I have the money right now to buy myself a pair.

Thinking of buying a netbook…

I am thinking if I should buy another computer… but I’m not yet sure if I should buy a notebook or a netbook. But I’m leaning more on a mini laptop because my dad already has a notebook so I can just borrow it from him. There’s a lot to choose from so I’m reading netbook reviews now to help me choose which one is best for me.

The question is do I need it? And my answer is I think I do. It’ll be very helpful in showing my work to clients and potential clients. And as a bonus, I can use it to watch videos, read ebooks, surf the net when I travel. And another bonus use is I can use it for fangirling too. Haha! When my fellow fangirls and I get together, we love to watch videos of our idols, looks at their pictures, and listen to their songs.

So, I need it right?

Home on the Road

One of my dreams is to own a RV… a home on the road. I love to travel and would love to experience traveling around the country on an RV, especially with my friends. i bet it will be an unforgettable adventure. I wonder how an RV cost here in the Philippines. I bet it costs a huge amount of money, and maybe its motorhome insurance costs a lot, too. But I’m pretty it is all worth it.

Sigh… I miss traveling. My plans to travel alone hasn’t pushed through yet. I really hope I can do it by next year. Wish me luck!

Fun with Mobile Camera

My niece, nephew and I were trigger-happy last Friday. We dropped by a restaurant, together with their mom (my sister), after school to have a late lunch. While waiting for the food, we took photos of each other and anything that’s on our table using my mobile camera. Here are a couple of my self-cams together with the kids…

I really missed these kids! Too bad kuya Marc isn’t here with us, I miss him terribly, too! Anyway, I’m planning to print some of the photos through an online printing and will send it to him as a surprise. I’m sure he’ll be happy to receive it. I’ll also include photos of Bailey too with the ball toy that he bought for him. ^_^ I can now imagine the smile on his face when he sees the photos!

Next K-Drama

August 8 is the next K-Pop Fest here in the Philippines and I’ll definitely be there to show my support and love for my boys, SS501! I just hope I can lose a little more weight before I see other fangirls and fanboys. Maybe I should take a look at quick weight loss diets… I’m not sure if 3 weeks will be enough to shed off some pounds but I’ll try.

Anyways, I’m halfway downloading The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince and next in line is Personal Taste, although the latter will take longer to download because the files are huge. I’m making a list what else to download… any suggestions? Next on my lists are Winter Sonata, Full House and the Taiwan drama Romantic Princess. (Yeah, I love Wu Chun!) And yeah, I will also be downloading that series with So Ji Sub, I forgot the title but I love that guy!

Okay, I just realized I have a lot on my que, and my cousin also will lend me more than 1 tb worth of Korean movies. Okay, good luck me! But your suggestions are still welcome… K movies too!

Burning of Fat

Thanks to the series of brownouts for the past few days, I get to burn off some fat. Haha! It’s like taking the best fat burners for free! Seriously! I perspired a lot and I was forced to go out and do a little walking. Yesterday, when I went out, it seemed like that’s what most of the people did. I went to this place which is usually deserted and it was packed yesterday. There were many people and cars all around. The line for the parking was long… the line for the ATM was long… the line for the cashier was long… whew! And the establishments offering free wifi were jam-packed, especially the coffee houses. There were people everywhere… what more at the malls.

The weather is now looking good so I hope there won’t be any brownouts anymore. Anyway, I bought more blank DVDs so I’ll be busy burning files and freeing my hard disk. Roughly translated… I can download more dramas! Yay!
